The Story of Dan Luebke

I Learned
to ride a scooter when I was about 14 years old from a neighbor boy that
had a Cushman. As I grew up I borrowed a Harley N-50 for lunch hours
when I was working at a grocery store.
After I
got out of the army and settled down I got married and then the first
gas crunch came in the 70's. My wife and I bought our first Yamaha 125
cycle, then a 250. Later I traded the two for an RD 350. Then we
started having a famiy and I sold the bike.
Thirty
years later my son bought a Yamaha 1100 Custom and said I could ride
sometimes. That's all it took. I looked around and tried several bikes
and found that I could handle a scooter better after not riding for a
long time. My neighbor has a Kymco People 50. I went to the Kymco
dealer and test rode this Xciting 250. We made a deal and I rode home
with the bike. He threw in a helmet that I recommend all people wear.
I live in
Wisconsin and had to put the scooter up for the season, but I was able
to put 300 miles on it first. It's great to be out on the scooter
whenever possible.
